Communities
Ajabu Wild was built on partnerships with the pastoralist communities and conservancies of northern Kenya, not around them. Community members are the custodians of their land and the true experts of their habitats. We are just visitors. However, together, we can build something that adds value to both our endeavours. We co-create campsites, employ local guides, porters and rangers, and source provisions locally wherever we can, so that a growing share of every trip's spending stays in the places we pass through.
If you represent a conservancy, group ranch or community organisation with a story to tell and a landscape worth protecting, we'd like to hear from you. Together we can look at what a partnership could involve: from hosting a new campsite to organising an expedition and adding your landscapes and activities to our travel itineraries.

We believe in mutual value creation, rather than competition, and mutual value is best created in partnership with others. We're a member of the Safari Defenders Initiative, a network of like-minded businesses promoting under-visited conservancies across Africa, and we partner with Interpeace and the Network for Peace, Social Cohesion and Heritage to explore how tourism can deepen the peace they helped build in northern Kenya.
We see this as any business, not-for-profit, artist or individual with an idea to which Ajabu Wild could add value: from leadership and wellness facilitators, to universities planning field research, to musicians dreaming up an intimate concert in the wild.
